Brittany J. Best was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT. Just like your child/children that LOVE to move, Brittany was 4 years old when she discovered her love for dance. Starting her training at age 11, Neighborhood Studios in Bridgeport, CT is where she learned many genres of dance such Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, & West African.
Brittany has had the pleasure of opening up for the great Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Dance Theater of Harlem and Alvin Ailey’s- Ailey II. During this time Brittany discovered her initial career path in Professional dancing and Instructing.
After graduating high school, Brittany had an urge to independently dive deep into the performing arts world. She partnered with a few amazing artists within the community creating and directing plays showcased in the Fairfield County area. This was the start to her gaining experience off the dance floor and behind the scenes. During the same time, Brittany began her road to instructing dance in Bridgeport, New Haven, and Stamford (Connecticut) dance studios where she taught Beginners Ballet, Beginners/Intermediate Hip Hop, Contemporary, Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Heels, and Beginner/Intermediate Majorette Dance.
After 9+ years of teaching dance, Brittany discovered her newfound love for fitness! In March of 2020, she started a business in fitness that strives and encourages adults pushing to be the best version of themselves through physical and mental health. She named it BESTFit, located in Milford, CT.
Once Brittany launched BESTFit, her passion and love for dance and instructing motivated her to create BESTMoves Dance Academy. Fortunately, in March of 2026, Brittany moved her space from Milford CT to her hometown right in Downtown Bridgeport CT. Now called, BESTMoves Dance & Fitness Studio. Currently, Brittany also strives to serve the children of the community by providing a mental and physical outlet through the arts!
